Day 3: Your Parents

The parentals eh? Well my parents were married for almost 18 years. Key word there? WERE. Past tense. Last February my mom left my dad. Last September she married someone else. So Stepfather and a couple new siblings. Oh joy. We usually get along pretty well. My stepdad gets pretty hurt around me though cause he takes things too seriously and is usually confused about my behavior since I'm absolutely nothing like his kids and my sister.

Back to my parents: The met when my mom was in high school. Got pregnant (ME! :D) and then got hitched a month after I was born. So my mother is exactly 18 years older than me. We usually get surprise when we mention that she's my mother, not my sister. I love my momma to death and she makes me smile like no other :) She's also always on my side which is a good thing when it ends up being me against the world. She told me just the other day: "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. No one is in control of your happiness but you; therefore, you have the power to change anything about yourself or your life that you want to change. Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow."

My father. We get along sometimes. Not always. But sometimes. He has a girlfriend now that he's divorced. She's a nice chick. Her kids are ok. her little 5 year old is adorable when he's not being a brat :) I live with my dad most of the time (court decreed)Even though sometimes I'd rather live with my mother more, I don't want to hurt anyones feelings so I just go with the agreement. It's only gonna be 4 more months anyways. But yeah. My dad :)
